Programs for Individuals & Families
These programs for children (ages 18 mos.-11 yrs.) and families are offered through the quarterly Wheaton Park District program brochure. Through songs, stories, crafts and explorations, all classes are full of hands-on fun and discovery. Each season different themes are developed to offer the community a variety of programs while continuing to offer the ever popular ones. Listed below are the descriptions of the types of programs offered for different ages.

Nature Tots -- Browse and register for programs »
Join your child for a little discovery and exploration of animals and nature through hands-on activities, crafts, games and stories. Each week we’ll discover a different joy of nature, foster a sense of wonder, and pique your curiosity about all things wild. A portion of each program may be spent outdoors, please dress appropriately. For kids ages 3-5 with parent. Programs are held at Northside Park.
Nature-Telling -- Browse and register for programs »
For ages 2-5 w/ an adult
Its nature story-telling time as children ages two to five, along with an adult chaperone, are invited to join a naturalist from the Lincoln Marsh at the Wheaton Public Library to listen to a nature-themed story and participate in a related craft and/or activity. Registration required. Register by calling the Wheaton Public Library at 630-868-7540.
Nature Play Days -- Browse and register for programs »
Become your child’s nature buddy! Together, we will sing, fiddle, jiggle, and journey into the wild, learning how to encounter nature through free-play. We’ll explore a new theme each session, so venture out often! This is the perfect way to foster in your tiny explorer, an appreciation for the natural world.

Discover the who, what and whys of animals and nature as we explore a different theme each week through hands-on activities, crafts, games and stories.
Junior Naturalists -- Browse and register for programs »
Investigate and discover the natural world while spending time with a Lincoln Marsh naturalist. We combine activities and exploration that help answer every child’s science and nature questions.

Spend some time off from school exploring science and nature with a naturalist from the Lincoln Marsh Natural Area.
We offer many half and full day programs on days with no school.
Fantastic Family Fun -- Browse and register for programs »
Bring your whole family and enjoy some Fantastic Family Fun with a naturalist from the Lincoln Marsh Natural Area. Multi-generational discovery, night hikes, and craft programs are just a few of the programs that uncover the different joys of nature.
Nature Program Cancellation/Relocation
Programs that meet at the Lincoln Marsh Natural Area are held entirely outdoors; please dress appropriately. Inclement weather may cause programs to be relocated or cancelled. Programs hosted by Lincoln Marsh staff have a minimum and maximum number of openings. The park district reserves the right to cancel programs due to insufficient registration. Program participants will be notified if a program is relocated or cancelled. |
